Austin and Heather are college sweethearts who first met during their freshman year in 2007 through mutual friends at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Davis proposed to longtime girlfriend Heather Evans on December 17th, 2011 at a Southern Miss basketball game at the Reed Green Coliseum on the Southern Miss campus in Hattiesburg.
Austin on how he proposed:
“After my senior season of football I knew the time had come. Heather had finished school a semester before me and she was patiently waiting for me to pop the question. I knew I wanted to do it in a way that we could remember forever, I wanted to do something special, but BIG!!. So I went for it! At the USM/ Ole MIss basketball game in Reed Green Coliseum I added another long lasting memory to our lives. After our 2011 championship team was recognized at halftime, I was handed the mic for a few last words to the fans. I gave them a short salute and then approached Future Mrs. Davis on the side of the court. With my heart beating out of my chest and my hands sweating profusely I got down on one knee and asked the girl of my dreams, my best friend, to be mine forever. And in front of a few thousand Golden Eagle fans SHE SAID YES!!!!

On April 21, 2012, they married the weekend before the NFL Draft, holding the reception in downtown Hattiesburg, Mississippi at the Bottling Company.
Heather Evans Davis went to a small, private high school. During her senior year, she became a cheerleader and began attending Southern Miss cheer camps. After being accepted to the University of Alabama and realizing that it wasn’t for her, Heather realized the hour and a half drive to Southern Miss seemed to be the perfect fit. Heather cheered at USM for two years and finished in four with a Communication Studies degree.
Austin Davis is currently the starting quarterback for the NFL’s St. Louis Rams.
Davis was a walk-on to the Southern Miss Golden Eagles football team. Davis redshirted the 2007 season and became the starter a year later. He ended the year with a combined total of 15 school records for both game and single-season marks and led the Golden Eagles to a bowl game victory in the 2008 New Orleans Bowl.
Davis went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft and signed a free agent deal with the St. Louis Rams.
On August 30th, 2013, Davis was cut by the Rams. The Miami Dolphins signed Davis to their practice squad on September 10, 2013.
Second Stint with Rams
Davis re-signed with the Rams on October 22, 2013, after an injury to Sam Bradford. In the first week of the 2014 NFL season against the Minnesota Vikings, Davis entered the game at the start of the second half in relief of starter Shaun Hill. A week later, due to Hill’s prevailing injury, Davis made his NFL starting debut on September 14, in a winning effort against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Davis was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 2012 MLB Draft in the 31st round, even though he only played baseball for one year in 2007.
