Boomer met his wife Cheryl in college at the University of Maryland. In June 1984, fresh out of the University, Boomer had signed a three-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, which gave him the income to help put his then girlfriend Cheryl through college. After a few years of dating, the happy couple got married in 1986. They are currently residing in New York with their two lovely children: Gunnar and Sydney.
Boomer’s wife Cheryl is the co-founder and co-chairman of the Boomer Esiason Foundation. The organization, which is dedicated to raising money to fund research for a cure to cystic fibrosis, was founded after the couple’s son Gunnar was diagnosed with the same illness at the age of 2 years old.
