Donaldson, currently playing as third baseman for the Oakland Athletics, was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the first round of the 2007 MLB draft. In 2008, he was traded to Oakland for Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin.
Josh Donaldson was called up to the majors for the first time in April 2010 and made his debut that same night as pinch hitter and struck out. He started the 2013 season strong, playing 158 games and finishing the season with 24 home runs, 93 RBI and a .301 average. During the 2014 season, he has been elected to his first All-Star appearance and will be playing starter at third base for the American League.
