Marissa and Rajai met while they were students at the University of Connecticut at Avery Point. They were classmates in their economics class and she gave him a ride to school one day. And as they say, the rest is history.
The couple is proud parents of two beautiful children. Rajai and his family are all living together in their home in Waterford.
Rajai began his career as a switch-hitter but became full-time right-handed hitter before the 2004 season. On August 14, 2006, he made his major league debut for the Pirates, going 0-for-1 in a pinch hit appearance against the Milwaukee Brewers. Seven years later, he signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Detroit Tigers. Rajai also became the second active player to record a 30-steal season for three different teams.
